Many of us end the day tired, busy, and still feeling like we didn’t do enough. The to-do list isn’t finished, there’s always more that could be done, and rest can feel undeserved. In this episode of The Productive Woman, we explore a different way of thinking about productivity — one that helps you decide when to stop, without guilt, and recognize when enough really is enough.

knowing when you've done enough today

Knowing When You’ve Done Enough Today

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Why “enough” is so hard to define in modern life

  • How productivity culture pushes us toward “more” instead of “meaning”

  • Why women, especially, struggle to feel done at the end of the day

  • The cost of never deciding you’ve done enough

  • How redefining productivity around alignment (not output) changes everything

  • A simple framework — The Enough Equation — to help you decide when to stop

  • Signs that you’ve done enough today, even if tasks remain unfinished

  • How to create a daily practice of choosing “enough” on purpose

The Enough Equation:

Enough = Priority + Presence + Permission

  • Priority: Did I do what mattered most today?

  • Presence: How did I show up for what I did?

  • Permission: Am I allowing myself to stop?

Key reminders from this episode:

  • Enough isn’t something you earn — it’s something you decide

  • You don’t have to finish everything to call a day successful

  • Rest is part of productivity, not a reward for completing all your tasks

  • “Enough” looks different in different seasons and on different days

Reflection questions:

  • If today were about alignment instead of accomplishment, how would I judge it?

  • What would change if I defined “enough” before the day begins?

  • What am I afraid would happen if I stopped sooner?
